Company Profile

Startco Engineering Ltd. is a Canadian-based company incorporated in 1975. In 2008, Startco became a part of Littelfuse, Inc., and now operates under the name Littelfuse Startco. Located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, Littelfuse Startco commenced business with the development of a soft starter for conveyor belt systems in potash mines. Since that time, Littelfuse Startco has expanded and now has a complete line of standard products, including sophisticated motor protection units, sensitive earth fault monitors, pilot wire monitors, and temperature monitors. The company also designs and manufactures a variety of custom equipment such as power centers, mining machine controls, neutral grounding systems, and ground fault panels.

 

 

 

 

Littelfuse Startco products are widely used in mining, aggregate, recreation, tunneling, forestry, pulp and paper, dairy, food utility petroleum, petrochemical, pipeline, entertainment, water and waste water, automotive metal fabrication and welding, fertilizer, transport and other industries.

Littelfuse Startco has a team of electrical engineers and specialists dedicated to quality product development. The R & D Department prides itself on designing rugged products using sound engineering principles and the latest technology.

Manufacturing

Littelfuse Startco’s standard products are assembled using high-quality components to help ensure reliability and product performance.

 

 

 

The product assembly area is meticulously clean. Product assembly is vitally important in the production of quality products that will perform without compromise for years in the toughest industrial applications. After assembly, most circuits are conformal coated for protection from corrosive atmospheres. This method protects the circuit while maintaining reparability.

Testing

If you've wondered about product reliability and performance – Littelfuse Startco has a very high standard of pre-release testing. Protection products are tested using computerized test procedures. Every product must pass a stringent test procedure before being released to the stores for sale and distribution. Along with a full functionality test, EVERY protection relay is heat soaked, with control power applied, at 60º for 72 hours before release to the market.

Warranty

Littelfuse Startco protective relays are warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a minimum period of five (5) years from the date of purchase. The five-year warranty applies to ground-fault monitors, ground-fault ground-check monitors, neutral-grounding-resistor monitors, and temperature monitors.  Littelfuse Startco motor- and feeder-protection relays have a limited-lifetime warranty.

 

 

 

 

Custom Equipment

Littelfuse Startco’s Custom Built electrical products include: portable power centers, solid-state starters, low profile substations, miner control consoles, custom automation panels, and artificial neutral packages. The assembly workshop is fully equipped and meticulously clean, which is reflected in the pride taken by employees in the finished product.

Training

Littelfuse Startco’s distributors are offered full factory training by Littelfuse Startco to enable continuity of Littelfuse Startco's high standard of Service and Customer Support. Training includes product information, electrical and product theory, and application knowledge, which equips the distributors with the tools to provide exceptional customer support.
