Support and Service

Our experience has provided us with the means to service our clients with:

A) Applications advice:

Including motor selection, suitable starting and control systems design, correct selection of soft starters and variable speed drives, torque and inertia calculations and environmental considerations.

B) Installation recommendations:

When installing a soft starter or variable speed drive, the considerations of control, ventilation / heat loss, environment, cabling and protection are not always at the forefront, usually resulting in problems and unnecessary expenses at a later date.

Our experience has encompassed all these aspects of installation resulting in minimal problems during installation and commissioning.

C) Commissioning:

Experience in commissioning in essential in building product and applications knowledge. Our experience in commissioning has involved a variety of applications and power electronic driven devices including Soft Starters and Variable speed drives on conveyors, compressors, pumps and fans.

We offer:

  • Pre-commissioning adjustments and programming, if required, at the MCC builder's premises.

  • Site commissioning, if required, in accordance with our commissioning rates

D) After Sales Support and Services:

Startco Pty. Ltd. offers a variety of support services, both in-house and utilising the component level experience of qualified technicians from dedicated service companies. Our focus in the event of a break-down is first and foremost to keep the plant running or to achieve quick and effective repairs to our equipment. This priority is achieve by structured support:

  • Phone Contact: Availability of phone support in the event of a break-down is paramount. The supplier must be assessable from site for immediate assistance. We offer 24 / 7 / 365 phone support.

  • Site personnel: In the event that site personnel are required, Startco Pty. Ltd. utilises a three tiered level of support:

    • Startco: From our experience noted above, we have the necessary technical support to assist in programming, control malfunctions and applications difficulties.

    • Where specific products are incorporated in a clients system, Startco utilise our own in-house service capabilities and the experience and product knowledge of the supplier, in component level repairs, to best service our clients needs.

    • Where required, Startco will employ the services of some of Queensland's most competent service technicians to ensure our client's are adequately serviced and supported.

  • Workshop Repairs: Utilising the facilities and component level competencies both in-house and of our support companies, if required, products supplied by Startco can be fully repaired and tested to factory specifications for, reliable, return to service operation.

  • Spare Parts: We recommend that some critical spare parts be held on-site for immediate break-down replacement, where site personnel have the ability to change a faulty component and avoid down-time delays and costs for a technician to travel to site.

Generally, Spare Parts inventory is held by the principle supplier of the electronic product/s. For Startco to hold a full inventory component count for every product would impractical and very expensive.

  • Preventative Maintenance: Startco in conjunction with our suppliers and service companies offer a 12 monthly preventative maintenance program whereby a technician will provide the necessary service on-site to inspect and maintain the power electronic devices, such as soft starters and variable speed drives, in fully operational order.

E) Follow-up Support:

Startco offers continued support for our clients in the way of technical support data, technical papers, questions, applications advise and periodical visits to site to ensure all systems are operational.
